As soon as I arrived at the first hole in the cart, I almost regretted wearing a skirt... It was this windbreaker that ended up blocking the morning breeze.

As soon as I arrived at the first hole in the cart, I almost regretted wearing a skirt... It was this windbreaker that ended up blocking the morning breeze.
A round of golf in the 7 AM time slot in mid-October. As I left the clubhouse, I thought I had made the right choice wearing the cream pleated skirt. I thought the photos would come out bright when paired with a lavender collared knit, and since I even wore warm gray knee socks, I figured it would be fine for the morning.
However, the few minutes spent riding the cart to the first hole were a problem. As I sat there, the hem of my skirt rode up and the wind kept coming in. When I got off the cart and walked up to the teeing area, my knees felt chilly, and I wondered if I should have worn long pants. It was then that I took out the Deep Olive windbreaker I had put in my golf bag and put it on.

Women's golf skirts in October: The skirt length changes starting from the cart.
The cream pleated skirt is designed so that the hem moves lightly when walking. The length seemed just right when I was standing in my golf shoes, but when I sat in the cart seat, the pleats folded and rode up toward my thighs. In October, this difference is quite significant. There is time waiting for the first tee shot, and time spent sitting in the cart because of the team ahead. If it had been a skirt that fell too short, I think I would have constantly been conscious of the hem.
On this day, I wore warm gray knee socks pulled up below my knees. With the gray color between the cream skirt and golf shoes, my legs didn't look completely white, and they felt more secure than short socks when the wind blew.
The reason I wore a deep olive windbreaker over a lavender golf knit

I was thinking of wearing a black windbreaker over the lavender knit, but I chose deep olive instead. Since the cream skirt was also on the bright side, having one dark color on the top suited the outfit well that day.
The windbreaker is made of a thin nylon material with a crisp texture, and the hem ends near the hips. Even when zipped up to the chest, the lavender collar is visible, so the knit sweater worn underneath is not completely covered.
The length was important here. If the windbreaker covers the top of the skirt long, it looks like the pleats suddenly start from the bottom. The length cutting off around the waist maintained the skirt's proportions even when viewed in full body after getting off the cart.
If you consider the swing as well, the sleeves are important for women's golf windbreakers.
On the first hole, I was so focused on blocking the wind that I didn't have time to look at anything else, but I ended up checking the sleeves while doing practice swings. If the ends of the sleeves slide down onto the back of my hand when I raise my arms, I have to readjust them before gripping the club. Thanks to the design with light wrist banding, the sleeves didn't slide down over the gloves. The body wasn't too bulky either, so the front part folded up less when I addressed the ball.

If I were choosing a windbreaker specifically for golf, I think I would look at this aspect first. During an actual round, I feel the movement of the sleeves and hem more often than how pretty it looks when tried on in the parking lot or clubhouse.
For the back nine, a lavender knit and a cream pleated skirt.
After playing a few holes and the sun came up, I folded the windbreaker into the cart. As the deep olives that were most visible in the morning faded, lavender collared knits and cream skirts came to the forefront.
It was fine to leave the warm gray knee socks as they were at this point. If it were just lavender and cream, the whole look could have appeared too bright, but the gray broke up the color scheme around the legs. Since the golf shoes were cream, they didn't clash with the skirt either.

I briefly regretted wearing a skirt this morning, but it wasn't enough to warrant changing clothes. If I choose a skirt for my next morning round in October, I think I'll keep the Deep Olive windbreaker in my golf bag, just for those few minutes of riding the cart to the first hole.
