My stomach folded in as soon as I sat in the cart… Women's golf pants that were more comfortable when sitting than standing
When standing in golf pants, you tend to notice the waistline first, but once you get in the cart, your gaze shifts elsewhere. Whether your lower abdomen is being pressed or the fabric is pulling on your thighs, these things can become quite bothersome after a few holes. If you are a woman in your mid-40s, instead of trying to solve the problem by wearing a top that covers your belly, it might be a good idea to start by changing the fit of your pants.
For this outfit, I paired charcoal semi-wide golf pants with a plum collar knit. In the morning, I added a warm beige lightweight vest and finished the look with an ivory cap and cream golf shoes. Since the charcoal pants provided a centerpiece, using autumn colors like plum for the top didn't feel overwhelming.

For the women's golf pants, I checked the room in the thighs first.
Just because it's semi-wide doesn't mean the legs are necessarily wide. If the fit leaves room for movement in the hips and thighs and falls relatively straight from below the knee, it won't look bulky even when standing.
Especially when stepping out of a shopping cart with one foot first, tight-fitting pants tend to have the fabric ride up. That is why, for this outfit, I chose a style that leaves some room in the thighs when the legs are bent. For photos, the charcoal color also helps to neatly define the leg lines.
You also need to consider the length of the top. If the plum knit ends around the hips, the waistline of the pants is visible, making the overall body proportions look more distinct compared to when a long top covers the entire stomach. I chose this to be comfortable when sitting, but it also makes the photos look less stuffy.
I changed the vibe of last year's pants with just one Plum Golf knit.

Actually, if you find yourself wanting to buy something new from this outfit, it would be the top rather than the pants. Many people already own charcoal golf pants, and as long as they are in good condition, there is little reason to buy them again. Instead, if you switch the top that sits close to your face to plum, the vibe changes dramatically. Compared to wearing a black or navy top, the deep autumn colors characteristic of October come alive, and even when paired with charcoal, the top and bottom do not look like a single mass.
If it were me, I wouldn't match the accessory color to plum here. Since the top already uses color, I'd keep the cap bright like ivory. If you start matching the hat as well, you suddenly look like someone who bought a full golf outfit, so I found it better to stop here.
I added a warm beige vest for my October morning round.
In October, the feeling is quite different when you step out of the clubhouse in the morning compared to after playing a few holes. So, instead of wearing a thick outer layer from the start, I added a thin, warm-beige lightweight vest over my plum knit.
What I like about this combination is the colors. If it were just plum and charcoal, the whole look could have been too dark, but the warm beige in the middle brightens up the upper body. When I take off the vest during the day, the plum knit comes back into the center, so the atmosphere of the morning and daytime photos changes slightly as well.

It is better to choose a vest length that does not completely cover the hips. Compared to a long design where the hem constantly folds against the cart seat, there are fewer areas to worry about when moving, and a design that doesn't bunch up at the sides makes the upper body look less bulky when worn over a knit.
I left my pants as they were when I went to the cafe after golf.
These charcoal pants are too good to just wear on the golf course and then put away. If the design doesn't have a prominent logo, you can simply swap the top for a thin cardigan and wear brown loafers instead of golf shoes to create an outfit suitable for an autumn outing.
For a woman in her mid-40s who frequently travels alone, this kind of versatility is quite important. If you bought an outfit for a golf outing but can wear it again next week to see the autumn foliage, it reduces the likelihood of it just taking up space in your closet.
Leave your cream golf shoes for the round, and a pair of your usual loafers is enough for a cafe or a trip. As for your bag, instead of forcing it to match your golf wear, you can simply carry your usual brown or black shoulder bag. Making these changes will also help you get rid of the feeling that you are wearing golf pants.

In the end, I didn't change much from the outfit for that day. Charcoal semi-wide pants with a plum knit and a warm beige vest only in the morning. I started this combination for comfort in the cart, but the colors turned out to be quite pretty as autumn golf wear in October.
