“Am I the only one who’s too ordinary?” I was worried before even reaching the first hole, but a women’s golf outfit brought to life by just one color.
Upon arriving at the golf course, as the women gathered one by one, we naturally began to notice each other's outfits. One woman was wearing a burgundy knit sweater, while the other was fully decked out in a patterned skirt and even a visor; suddenly, the plain golf attire that had looked fine at home felt boring. We hadn't even reached the first hole yet, but the thought "Am I the only one who is too ordinary?" crossed my mind first.
The only thing the woman changed was the color close to her face. Wearing a cobalt blue collared knit and soft white straight golf pants, the area around her face looked much brighter. Since it was a chilly day with temperatures around 10 degrees in the morning, she wore a soft gray lightweight wind jacket while moving around and took it off just before entering the first hole.

Women's golf wear color, cobalt blue, check up close to the face
At first, a bright, vivid blue was also a candidate. However, when I held the sweater directly under my chin by the window, the slightly deeper cobalt blue defined my facial features better than the intensely fluorescent blue, and the redness of my skin was less noticeable, so I decided on this color as the final choice.
The small collar sat neatly near the neck, and the shoulder line fit the actual shoulder level. With a slight looseness in the chest and arms, the lines became refined as they descended to the waist, making the face visible before the clothes.
There was also a difference when I spoke with other women in the waiting area for the first hole. Instead of adding large logos or color-blocking decorations, the woman made the cobalt blue itself the focal point, so her presence did not fade even when standing among golf wear of various colors.
White golf pants, the bolder the top, the quieter the bottom

For the bottoms, I chose soft white straight golf pants. They had enough room in the thighs for movement, and the width didn't change much from below the knee to the hem, so my leg line remained straight when getting out of the cart or walking on the fairway.
Since these are light-colored pants, I didn't overlook the fabric; I first checked to see if the lining or sheerness would stand out in bright sunlight. Instead of a thin, flowy material, I chose a fabric with a smooth surface and moderate thickness, and the simple back pocket detailing also reduced elements that clashed with the cobalt blue.
I used vivid colors for the top and kept the embellishments to a minimum for the bottom. Since the eye flows straight down from blue to white, the focal point of the outfit was clear without the need to add other colors.
Golf Outfit for Women in Their 40s: If the Colors Are Strong, Keep the Fit Simple

The woman was worried that the cobalt blue would stand out too much. So, for the knitwear, she removed the large embroidery and contrasting lines and chose a design with a simple collar and buttons.
I also chose straight-fit pants without side seam details or large pockets, and when I added a soft gray visor and white golf shoes, the colors didn't scatter into four or five different spots. I initially tried a blue visor as well, but the same color looked concentrated on my upper body in the mirror, so I switched to a muted gray.
After the morning round, small wrinkles formed on the elbows of the knitwear, and there were a few traces of grass on the hems of the white pants. Since the outfit didn't use many embellishments to begin with, even these everyday wrinkles blended naturally into the overall look.
Women's golf look that wasn't overshadowed in the group photo
Before moving on to the back nine holes, four women who were playing together took a quick photo next to the cart parking area. One was wearing a cream knit top and navy pants, another a burgundy top and beige skirt, and another friend was wearing a patterned knit top and black pants.

The woman got out of the cart and walked toward her friends, stepping right into the photo. It was the moment when only one foot stepped half a step forward, but the boundary between her cobalt blue top and white pants was so distinct that the top and bottom didn't blend together like one solid mass even in the full-body shot taken from a distance. Her friend, who was checking the photo, stopped scrolling through the screen. "You really picked a great blue today. It stands out immediately, even from afar."
