I have so much pretty golf wear, but it’s hard to actually wear it at my age… The day before a fall golf round, I just rummaged through my closet again.

Shopping apps are overflowing with pretty golf wear, but it's a different story when it comes to actually choosing clothes for myself. The pink knit looks like I tried too hard to look young, and while I thought black was a safe choice, it makes my face look dull.
Now that I'm in my 40s and 50s, I find myself spending more time agonizing over color and fit than over buying new clothes. I start by placing a soft oatmeal half-zip knit and charcoal straight pants, then add a deep navy lightweight vest and a beige cap. If I decide on these two things first—brightening my face while ensuring the arms and stomach area aren't too tight—I find that I spend a little less time in front of the closet.

Golf wear for people in their 40s and 50s, start with lighter colors closest to the face.
At the golf course, I find myself drawn to clothes with bolder colors than usual. I might add a vivid pink or red knit sweater to my shopping cart, only to remove it from the cart later, thinking, "If I wear this to meet my ladies, won't I look like I've really overdressed?"
Conversely, if you wear a black knit sweater and a black cap, under-eye shadows can stand out in the early morning natural light, making your face look dull. I prefer a top that is one shade lighter, like oatmeal or soft lavender, and pair it with charcoal pants. I also found that switching the cap to beige prevents dark colors from gathering around my face.
Once you've decided on the color, it's time for the fit. It would be a problem if you chose tight-fitting clothes to look younger, only to find yourself self-conscious about your arms and stomach every time you swing.
Women's golf knit, leave a little room in the arms.

When I wear a form-fitting knit and raise my arms, if the forearm area feels tight and rides up above my stomach to the hem, I find myself constantly adjusting the garment throughout the round. Conversely, with a knit that is too loose, the fabric bunches up around the armpits and sides when layered with a vest, making the upper body look bulky.
Choose sleeves that leave about a finger's width of room at the forearm and taper slightly toward the wrist. For the hem, a length that stops around the pelvis rather than completely covering the hips is ideal.
If you try raising your arms high and performing a swing motion at home, you can immediately see how high the hem rises. Since the upper body is defined, there is no need for the pants to cling to your body as well. For the bottom, keep the lines simple with a charcoal straight fit.
For women's golf pants, check the thigh room and hem length first.

Although tight-fitting golf pants from the thighs to the calves may make you look slim while standing, they can cause the front of your thighs to feel tight or press on your stomach after sitting in a cart for a long time. If you climb an incline in that state, you will find yourself reaching for the waistband of your pants. For charcoal or deep navy straight pants, leave a little space in the thighs and let them fall straight down below the knee. If you set the hem to a length that lightly touches the top of your cream golf shoes, the fabric will not bunch up at the ankles.
If you prefer skirts, you can pair a knee-length golf skirt with matte charcoal leggings. Ending the hem of the top around the hips also creates a distinct line between the waist and legs. However, once you've put on all of this, the morning chill becomes a problem. On an autumn golf course, your outfit is bound to change between when you start and after a few holes.
Autumn golf vest, a thin single layer for mornings around 10 degrees.
In October, there are days when morning temperatures drop to around 10 degrees but rise to nearly 20 degrees during the day. If you wear a thick top thinking only about the morning, your arms might start to feel stuffy after a few holes, so I wear a thin, lightweight vest in deep navy or warm beige over it.
For the vest, choose a design that leaves some room at the hip line rather than one that covers the hips deeply. The sides should also not bulge out like balloons so that the lines established by the knit top and pants remain visible.

When my body heats up, I leave the vest in the cart and wear only a knit sweater. If I put thin gloves and a small hand warmer inside my golf bag, it makes it easier to endure the cold hands during the first few holes.
On days when I wear cream golf shoes, I also pay attention to whether it rained the day before. Since green stains and dirt quickly get on the toes and edges of the soles when passing over wet grass, I carry a small shoe tissue with me.
Women's Fall Golf Outfit: My Face Has to Stand Out First Even Next to the Older Sisters
When I arrived at the clubhouse, one woman was wearing a burgundy knit sweater, and the other was wearing bright pink golf attire. ‘As expected, those colors suit her well.’ My eyes were drawn to them for a moment.
However, when I stand next to them and talk, the reason for me to wear the exact same pink disappears. Thanks to the oatmeal knit, my face looks brighter, and the charcoal pants fall calmly downwards. Even the beige cap connects the brightness around my face.

Even when the suggestion to take a group photo is made, no one looks down at their clothes first. Nor does anyone check who has new clothes and who has last year's. Now, I close the closet door that I had left wide open last night.
