I was worried I wouldn't be able to wear it once the trend passed... but after seeing Chun Woo-hee's knit vest, the answer to autumn clothes was surprisingly familiar.

When I go looking for fall clothes, the pretty ones catch my eye first, but when it comes to actually choosing, I find myself overthinking. Should I wear this next year? Isn't it too trendy? Then I saw Chun Woo-hee's styling, and surprisingly, there aren't many unfamiliar outfits.
From a knit vest with a white blouse to a white shirt paired with brown and black sets. But it’s strange, isn’t it? They are familiar clothes, yet they look different from how I usually wear them. It was from this point that I started wondering if I should look at the combinations first rather than the new clothes.

If you wear a knit vest wrong, you look like a student... Chun Woo-hee wore brown.
When I hear the combination of a knit vest and a white blouse, the first thing that comes to mind is the school uniform I used to wear. Maybe that is why I avoided this combination for a while. I thought it would look too demure.
Chun Woo-hee is wearing a white blouse under a navy knit vest, and the sleeves are quite roomy. The neckline isn't buttoned up neatly either, so it looks a bit different from the tidy vest look I remember.

But I looked at the bottom longer than the top. They had paired brown bottoms. Since we had already gone from navy to white, it wouldn't have been strange at all to end with black, but brown here? It suddenly feels like October.
I don't really think I'll be able to wear clothes like this at some point just because of my age. Whether you're in your 30s or 40s, what ultimately changes is the blouse or bottoms you wear with it, rather than the vest itself. I feel a bit wronged for having previously dismissed knit vests as looking too much like a student's outfit. The vest wasn't at fault at all.

I almost wore a white shirt and jeans again… Meeting Brown suddenly makes it feel like October.
On days I wear a white shirt, I strangely find myself thinking less. If I'm short on time in the morning, I just put on jeans, roll up the sleeves, and that's it. It's comfortable, so I've been dressing the same way for years.

However, Chun Woo-hee paired it with brown bottoms. It’s not even a special technique, so I wondered why I had never tried doing it properly before. White and denim are so familiar that sometimes I don't really feel the season, but with brown at the bottom, I find it much more appealing for this time of year.
Early October is especially tricky when it comes to dressing. It's chilly in the mornings so you look for long sleeves, but there are days when knitwear feels too heavy in the midday heat. On days like these, it's actually more comfortable to just wear a shirt and add an outer layer in the evening.
I think this will be sufficient even for a weekend outing to the suburbs. It doesn't feel awkward entering a cafe, and it isn't burdensome even after walking a lot. Best of all, I won't have to worry about saying "white shirt and jeans again" after taking photos. This time, denim can take a day off.
I even thought hard about the day I would wear a black matching set... You know those days when every 10 minutes of the morning feels like a waste?
The third reason is completely different. It’s the kind of thing I want to remember because it’s comfortable, rather than because it’s pretty. By "comfortable," I don't mean the clothes are loose; I mean there’s less to worry about in the morning.

I tucked in a button-down top over a black jacket that continues the dark color scheme. It feels a bit more dressed up than just wearing a T-shirt, but it doesn't look like a stiff suit.
I've found that this is actually quite important on weekday mornings. On days when you wake up 10 minutes late, you don't have the luxury of thinking about color combinations or layering. You just end up wasting more time trying to decide what to wear while drying your hair. In moments like these, an all-black outfit feels like it just eliminates one of your worries.
Looking at the three options again, I actually want to try the white shirt and brown combination rather than the first one. The reason isn't grand; it's simply because I think I can try it out tomorrow morning. I'm just going to wear my usual white shirt and skip the jeans for a day. If I try it on and it doesn't look right at all, I can just wear the jeans again the next day.
