As soon as the day before a trip arrives, even clothes I wouldn't normally wear suddenly look pretty. I pack this thinking it would look nice at a resort, and then add that because I think I'll need it for the evening; before I know it, my suitcase is on the verge of giving up on the trip first.

However, looking at actress and singer Seohyun's travel fashion, I realized that you don't necessarily have to pack a lot of clothes to change the vibe of every photo. Maybe it's because I'm used to her innocent and neat look, but in the first black outfit, I was like, "Huh?"

I thought it was bolder than I expected, and while pink suddenly pops out from the denim, it calms down again with a bright jacket at night. I usually like bright-colored clothes and tend to pack ivory and white first when traveling, but this time, I was actually drawn to the way Seohyun handled the darker colors.

I wavered once again at the silver chain bag. If I had gone with a black bag, it would have been a clean finish, but since the silver stands out subtly in the sunlight, it makes the outfit look much lighter. People who like bright colors are weak to things like this. I thought white was the only bright color, but now that silver has appeared, I want to buy it again...

And styling the hair upwards to keep it cool plays a significant role in this outfit. Since the top reveals the shoulders and neckline, it would have felt more stifling if the long hair had fallen forward; combined with the sunglasses, it naturally creates the impression of having paused briefly while strolling around a resort. You know those people who travel to hot countries and let their hair down to look pretty on the first day, only to tie it up unconditionally from the second day onwards? On humid days, the nape of the neck wins over the hairstyle.

If you feel self-conscious about wearing short bottoms, simply shortening the length a little will be enough to capture this vibe. I think black shorts reaching mid-thigh with a loosely draped white shirt and a silver bag would look quite nice, and wearing sneakers would make it less strenuous for a day of walking. I really want to stop seeing my face turn pale by 3 PM after touring a travel destination in high heels.

Above all, the first look doesn't feel heavy despite the abundance of black. The white shirt and silver bag provide occasional bright accents, and since some skin is exposed, the outfit doesn't feel stiflingly closed off. Even I, who usually only look for bright clothes, find myself wanting to try this level of black this summer. Changing my mind like this is the most dangerous thing to do.

Denim-on-denim looks can suddenly become difficult if you go even slightly off. That is why many people buy denim shirts but end up only wearing them with black or white pants. However, Seohyun paired light denim shades top and bottom with a touch of pink around the neckline, and it looks actually quite cute.

Ah... I don't think I would have looked at this outfit for this long without that pink. With the vivid color peeking through the denim, the whole look suddenly becomes playful, and combined with the thick braided hair, the edgy vibe typical of denim-on-denim looks is significantly toned down.

If you find it too daunting to wear a full denim-on-denim outfit to work on a weekday, you don't necessarily have to follow the exact same path. You can achieve a similar vibe simply by peeking a pink t-shirt out from under a denim shirt or layering a pink knit sweater over denim pants. I suddenly feel a bit cheated wondering why I always wore only white t-shirts under the denim shirts I have at home. It's not like the white t-shirt did anything wrong, after all.

The hair looks pretty, but I'll just look. I don't have the confidence to braid it that length first thing in the morning. I can clearly picture myself starting on one side, checking the time, and just tying it loosely with a rubber band.

This aligns with my preference for bright colors! Even though the night scenery is dark, the ivory and light beige tones stand out close to the face; instead of looking dull, the soft lighting makes my expression look much brighter. The atmosphere has become so calm that it's hard to believe this is the same person who boldly wore black during the day, yet it doesn't feel overly formal.

The jacket isn't a tight-fitting suit style but has a relaxed fit, making it perfect for dinner while traveling. Since the bright lining extends to the inside, the look isn't boring even without adding multiple accessories. With a jacket like this, you can comfortably wear it with denim and sneakers during the day and simply change the inner top for a different vibe in the evening, which will help reduce the need to agonize over your outfit while lying in bed.

However, on days when I wear a bright jacket to a restaurant, my behavior suddenly becomes subdued. I wonder why, on those days, I feel like the sauce on the tomato pasta—which I usually eat just fine—might splatter, and I become cautious even when setting down my coffee cup... Still, I can't give up bright jackets. It is better to wash them one more time than to have both my clothes and my face disappear into the darkness when taking a photo at night.

Looking at Seohyun's travel outfit, I realized that for my next trip, I don't want to pack more clothes; instead, I want to set aside a white shirt and a light-colored jacket first. The problem is, will I remember this feeling the day before the trip? If I end up sitting on top of my suitcase holding the zipper again... then there really won't be a solution.
