If you open your closet intending to wear a casual yet stylish look, but you've been changing clothes for 20 minutes, that's when something goes wrong. There are times when you wonder if you really need to go to such lengths just to look comfortable. However, Kim Go-eun's casual style goes in the opposite direction. It hardly looks like she tried too hard, yet it doesn't look like she just threw on anything.

Ah... I was just going to wear jeans, but why is this becoming such a big deal? Especially seeing you wearing a plaid shirt makes me unnecessarily go back to looking for a shirt in my closet.

Youthful plaid shirt and wide denim baseball cap outfit

Choosing the wrong plaid shirt can be quite tricky. Sometimes, the moment you neatly button it up, you suddenly end up looking like a studious model student. Kim Go-eun, however, wore it unbuttoned for a relaxed look, pairing it with light blue wide-leg denim jeans that fell loosely. Adding a black NYC baseball cap pulled down over the top makes the outfit look much more casual.

If I wear jeans that oversized, I think I should be a bit cautious about blindly buying an oversized top as well. I'd prefer a shirt with a natural fall at the shoulders that isn't too long. (If you choose the wrong one, it won't look like a casual chic look, but rather like you borrowed both your dad's shirt and jeans...) When buying a plaid shirt, don't just think about wearing it on its own; it would be good to see if it looks good when casually thrown over a white t-shirt.

It's perfect to wear instead of a light outer layer on ambiguous weather days. If you add a baseball cap, you can even pull off a look like a fairly planned outfit on days when you haven't washed your hair. That's quite important.

Snow Peak Black Setup That Is Even More Desirable When Taking an Early Morning Flight

I thought that Snow Peak black set would end up looking dull all black, but the pink t-shirt peeking out slightly is just perfect. Actually, when I see clothes like this, I think of the airport rather than hiking. You leave home to catch an early morning flight, but your jeans feel stuffy and your jacket is wrinkled... At that moment, nothing is more welcome than a crisp windbreaker and comfortable pants.

It is even better if there are plenty of pockets. If you put your passport, phone, and even lip balm in there, you don't have to open the bag. Of course, having to search both pockets 30 minutes later because you don't know which one you put your passport in is a separate issue.

If you choose black nylon pants or drawstring wide-leg pants, I want to sit down to check if the knees stretch out too quickly. They look pretty only when you're standing, but we end up sitting in cafes and on airplanes for hours anyway.

A white lace top tucked into a cardigan

Huh? I'm actually more curious about what's underneath than the cardigan. Just looking at the gray cardigan and jeans, it looks like a really familiar outfit, but the white lace top tucked in slightly suddenly softens the vibe. For something like this, it might be faster to just find a lace sleeveless top than to buy another new cardigan. I'd like to try tucking it into a black jacket too.

However, lace tops sometimes look like completely different outfits when a shopping mall model wears them compared to when I unpack them and try them on. If the neckline is deeper than expected or the lace is too wide, it looks pretty in front of the mirror, but I suddenly lose my confidence when I step out the front door.

So, let's start with designs that have subtle embellishments and a neckline that isn't too low. If you buy a cardigan because it's pretty, but then end up buttoning it all the way up to your neck... you'll wonder why on earth you even bought that lace.

Pink shirt and white pants—that’s the end of the colors.

I think adding this and that would actually make it feel a bit lacking. The pink shirt alone brightens up the area around your face, and since it flows seamlessly with white pants, there is no need for accessories to work so hard.

This soft pink feels less lonely in the closet than a bright pink. You can wear it with jeans or beige pants, and when the weather gets a bit warmer, you can just roll up the sleeves. The problem, as always, is white pants.

I don't know why, whenever I wear white pants, I suddenly crave Jjamppong so much—something I wouldn't normally even think about. If I have a lunch appointment, I would choose slightly structured cotton wide-leg pants over thin, clingy white ones. I worry less about them being see-through, and the lines around my thighs are less uncomfortable when I sit down. I just can't win if the clothes are pretty but I have to keep a napkin spread out on my lap and stay on edge the entire time I'm eating.

If I had to wear tomorrow, it would be a plaid shirt and wide denim.

If it were me, I'd go with the first option: the plaid shirt. The reason isn't anything grand. You already have jeans, sneakers, and a baseball cap, so all you need to do is find the right shirt. You can button it up for a neat look, or wear it unbuttoned over a white t-shirt for the weekend. Most importantly, you won't have to stand in front of the mirror in the morning wondering, "What should I wear with this?"

I like that I don't have to stand for a long time. That is, as long as I don't go in to buy a plaid shirt and end up adding wide-leg denim and a baseball cap to my cart just to dress like Kim Go-eun... I'm not confident because I feel like I would already be doing that.
