The story goes that she made it to the third round of the email audition but was eventually eliminated. If it had ended there, the person she is today wouldn't exist. She had been a trainee at YG Entertainment for nearly five years, starting from her first year of middle school. Apparently, even after hearing the news of her elimination, she couldn't give up; she went to see Yang Hyun-suk in person and earnestly pleaded with him to let her in, saying she could do well. This is the story of i-dle's Miyeon.
Although returning to trainee life didn't immediately lead to a debut, the choice was ultimately to transfer to Cube and finally debut as i-dle in 2018. She established herself as the team's main vocalist and representative visual member, and by taking on the vocals for 'Ahri' in the Riot Games K/DA project, she became known to fans not only in Korea but also overseas.
In 2022, she achieved her first number one on a music show just a week after her debut with "Drive," the title track from her solo album "MY." In 2024, she also served as an MC for JTBC's "Dating Siblings" and even received the Tirtir Popular Star Award at the Blue Dragon Series Awards. It feels like rewards are piling up one by one for someone who doesn't give up and keeps challenging themselves.
Recently, right after wrapping up promotions for (G)I-DLE's 9th mini-album, she took another step forward as a solo artist by releasing her first Japanese digital single, 'RUN AWAY,' on August 10th. Hearing that she even performed at the Kansai Collection with this song, for which she also participated in writing the lyrics, it seems she is running non-stop, shuttling between group and solo activities. The side profile in this photo immediately caught my eye. A brown suede jacket was draped over a white shirt, and the shirt collar peeked slightly out from between the jacket, creating a natural layering effect.
I also liked how the wide-leg denim was styled comfortably. Since the leg line extended seamlessly to the hem, it created an overall relaxed silhouette. Wearing a brown crossbody bag on the shoulder matched the jacket's color tone, making it look like an effortlessly stylish combination.

I spent quite a while looking at the pose of crouching and resting my chin on my hand. I matched a black sequin jacket and shorts, and since the sequins sparkled softly under the lighting, it looked like a photoshoot even though it was indoors.
The check-patterned pointed heels subtly stood out. In the all-black set, these were the only shoes with a pattern, but that was actually what drew the eye. Casually placing the suede bucket bag at my feet also contrasted with the shimmering jacket, adding a casual weight to the look.
I realized that the same outfit can have such a drastically different vibe depending on whether you are crouching or standing. I think that when wearing sequin material as a simple set, it looks glamorous but comes across as well-organized without being excessive.

The moment she smiled while leaning slightly, my eyes stopped right there. She paired an ivory-toned graphic tee with a burgundy check mini skirt, and the skirt's hem had a layered, ruffle-like design that perfectly balanced the simple top.
Draping the brown fur jacket over the shoulders definitely added volume. Since the material has a rich texture, it created a presence that stood out despite the casual vibe when paired with the check pattern. The knee-high boots that accentuated the leg line also complemented the short skirt length well.
The contrast created by the red wall and the steel background connected with the burgundy color and tone of the skirt, giving the impression that the entire photo came together as one.
Indoor look completed with Olive Ami knit cardigan
I loved the shot of her leaning comfortably on the sofa, starting with her expression. She is wearing an olive-toned knit cardigan with AMI's signature large heart logo emblazoned on the chest, clearly highlighting the brand's identity even within the simple color scheme. Matching it with a black mini skirt created a contrast with the olive color, anchoring the look to the outfit.
Placing a brown teddy crossbody bag beside her was also a combination that paired well with the cozy texture of the knit cardigan. Sitting comfortably against the backdrop of the night view outside the window perfectly captured the atmosphere of an informal evening. It seems that a knit in a calm color like olive becomes a simple yet impactful look with just a single logo detail.

From the front of a cafe to an indoor studio, the street, and the night view, the backgrounds and colors were all different, yet her facial expressions were always natural. I feel that same mindset she had when she didn't give up and returned to an audition she had been rejected from, reflected in these colorful casual outfits. Seeing her return to the stage with a Japanese solo single immediately after finishing group activities, it seems like she is someone who will keep running without rest. I am already curious to see what kind of stage we will see her on next.
